Can I get a discount if a dental student works on our teeth?

My son needs extensive orthodontic and periodontal services and even though we have dental insurance, we cannot afford the treatment. It was suggested that we try one of the Dental Colleges in Boston. How would we go about getting him evaluated and hopefully on the path to good dental health?

call the dental school and ask them. Some schools have a long waiting list. also if your child is under the age of 18 and meet some criteria, your child could get medicaid. just call the Medicaid office in your area.
Reply:Call the schools and ask if they have such a program and how to get on it if they do.

My folks are on one but it's for routine dental cleanings and exams.
Reply:I got extensive Dental work done at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. They have the highest standards around and I am sure Boston has the same high standards. Whatever is the going rate at a local Dentist office is usally half at the Dental Schools. Call the Boston Dental School for an appointment where your son will be evaluated and they will take it from there and let you know just what he needs done and the cost. They may very well accept a Payment Plan, Wishing your son the best
