The form you fill in is called an HC2 form. It is for low income, which include students. If you live at home it will go by your parents income to see if you are eligible. If you live away from home you should normally get full help.
They then decide whether you are eligible for free dental, optician, prescription treatment. There are varying degrees of help awarded to individuals according to income.
You can get the form from doctors surgery, local pharmacy or social security office.

Hi, if your a u.k university student. There's a form you have to fill in called a 'HC1' which you can pick up from your post office, fill that in, send it away and they should reply to let you know if your eligible for free treatment.

Reply:If you are over 18 and in full time education you will be charged the NHS fees.
What you can do is fill out an HC1 form after you have had any treatment carried out, fill it out and send off all receipts you have been given and they will contact you via post and let you know if you are eligible for exemption.
