companies? I just have no idea where to start and what is a good rate. Checked out BCBS of NC but it all looks like gibberish to me.
In NC I am looking for individual health and dental insurance. Any suggestions on some reliable, affordable?
you should call and ask and when they give you a quote ask them who they are basing this "great" deal off of..other than bcbs of nc i dont know of any other that an individual can get insurance from
Reply:Hi Neighbor! I am also in NC. I did the bcbs of NC for a while, that got to be really expensive. Find an agent who represents several health care companies. I switched to welpath, and have a one man group policy with them . It saved me about 600 from what I was paying with BCBS of NC... Let me know if you are near Charlotte, and I'll give you my agent's name.. best of luck!
Reply:I was going to suggest BCBS NC mostly because they are big and have been around for awhile. Be careful because the cheaper, less established plans have a tendency to exclude or limit certain medical procedures. You can compare on their website the different plans (I guess that is the gibberish you saw). Look at your deductibles and maximum annual out of pocket amounts. If money is an issue and you are in good health maybe a policy for accident coverage only.
Regardless of what you do, always, and I mean always ask for precertification from your medical providers. I have 100% coverage policy and I still got stuck with about $1000 out of pocket because of procedures that were not covered under the insurance. email me if you have more questions.

Watch the 5 minute video on the home page and qualify for a free $100 Rx card (no strings attached). Then view the "Save Money" option to see if they have a program that may work for you. Their plans start at $19.95/mo per household. It's not health insurance, it's discount health care. My husband and I go this route for our family of four because it's cheaper...
