Does health insurance cover dental visits or is that a seperate ins altogether?
Good idea - pick the answer that makes you feel better. Report It

Reply:dental insurance is usually separate, but not always.
Reply:Usually not. You'll have to get Dental Insurance for that.
Reply:IT IS SEPARATE AND IS CALLED A RIDER
Reply:Your said "health insurance",which consists of : Medical,Vision and Dental.

If you meant does Medical insurance cover dental, the answer is no. It's totally separate. Medical is for doctors/hospital visits. Health insurance is your total package.
Reply:Although there are a few extreme exceptions, dental is SEPERATE coverage from health.
Reply:The answer hides within your policy.....some plans cover it....others do not unless a seperate policy is written....best to read the policy
Reply:Generally, dental coverage is separate. Unless you need oral surgery because of a medical issue - like an infection or abscess.
Reply:Most health insurance policies do not cover dental visits. There is a separate dental insurance. It is typically very expensive for individuals and includes waiting periods. Most times it is not worth the premium you would have to pay.

The only exception to dental procedures being covered by health insurance are those relating to treatment of injuries to the mouth. Let's say you are in a car accident and were to lose a few teeth. Your medical insurance would cover the treatment.
Reply:depends on the company
