....a 44 year old man. I am a non-smoker, and in good shape. I have no medical conditions, now or ever.
What's the average cost of health AND dental insurance per month for.....?
Are you purchasing on your own or thru your job? That can make a HUGE difference!! For individuals - rates vary by state and by insurance company and the type of plan (HMO vs. PPO vs. Hospitalization only), but figure somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 a month.
It's cheaper if you can get insurance under a business - the bigger the better - most insurance companies don't want to sell to individuals because they often get screwed on the premium payments. If you have a small business, that will be an advantage.
See if your state has something like Healthy New York - it's great insurance that the cost is subsidized by the state, so the cost is less than half of what it'd cost otherwise. BUT, there's strict income requirements.
Other factors in the price - prescripton plan, deductibles and copays (the higher these are, usually the less you pay in premiums. Not always though.) and whether you can self-refer for specialists.
A good insurance broker can walk you thru the application process and will also shop the best deal for you.
Good luck!
Reply:I'm 41 myself and in the same physical condition. The cost depends on the plan that you choose and also if you are married. I pay about $50 medical and $20 dental monthly.
Reply:You would need to contact the insurance companies for quotes. I am a 44 year old female and have an employer sponsored insurance plan which costs roughly $180 per month and dental insurance which cost roughly $22 per month.
