I hope this helps,
What would be a affortable way to start up my dental health appointments being I have no insurance?
See if you can be put on a short term payment plan %26amp; pay on time %26amp; pay off the bill early if possible.
Reply:I was in the same position as you. Firstly, ask yourself what you need to get done. Is it cavities? Just a clean? Or gum problems? Phone a few dentists and ask for quotes for fixing the problems and also the consultation fee.
Save enough money for two consultation fees (usually $50-$100 per visit). Get the opinion of two dentists and see what you need to get done and which ones are urgent. My dentist did a plan for which highlighted things that needed urgent attention and things that could wait for 3-5 months. If your dentist doesn't outline a plan, ask him to make one during your consultation visit.
Decide if it's more feasible to get health insurance. Dental insurance usually has 3-6 months waiting period before you can take advantage of it. However, if you're getting a lot of things done, it might be worth it.
Some dentist do offer repayment plans but the interest is quite high. If you are getting a stable income, using a credit card won't be a bad idea if it offers 60 days no interest.
Reply:Well most dentists would work with you on a payment plan, but some won't, so you have to ask around. I have Ameriplan. It's not an insurance company. They provide discounted programs and you save up to 80% on most procedures and the cover everything. There are no limits and no paperwork to fill out. Plus they give you Vision, Pharmamcy and Chiropractor care for Free. It only costs $19.95 a month. You might want to check them out. www.mybenefitsplus.com/wishes.
